Savor the Flavors of France: Support Carteret CC Culinary Students' Unforgettable Journey!

Embark on a culinary adventure while supporting the talented students of Carteret Community College's Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts, and Hospitality Management programs! Join us for an exquisite dining experience and play a pivotal role in their educational journey to France.

Each year, a select group of two to four students earns the incredible opportunity to train with master Escoffier Chefs in France for five weeks. These aspiring chefs return brimming with new techniques and inspirations, ready to share their knowledge through the much-anticipated Escoffier Chefs’ Dinners.

Your Impact

Proceeds from these dinners ensure our students can participate in the Goellner French exchange program without financial burden. Additional funds will continue to support and enrich our Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts, and Hospitality Management programs.

Chef Randy Sweat

In July 2023, Carteret Community College lost a cherished member of their culinary team, Chef Randy Sweat. To honor his memory, the Hospitality & Culinary Arts department established the Sweat Equity grant. This grant, named after their late coworker and friend, invites student organizations and programs within Carteret Community College to apply annually to earn a portion of the proceeds to support their organization or program. By applying, the organization or program agrees that both students and faculty contribute “sweat” by assisting with the February Escoffier dinner.

The 2024 Sweat Equity grant recipients are the Pirate Promise and Pathways to Excellence Programs. These are transfer programs for students in their first year at Carteret Community College who plan to transfer to ECU and UNC-Wilmington. Funding for these programs helps students attend special events, receive advising assistance, and get support before they apply to ECU or UNC-Wilmington.
